The unique benefits of a masonry heater from Nedita Stoves
Not only do we have several types of stoves, like wood stoves, pellet stoves and combi stoves that can burn both wood and pellets, but our stoves are all true heat accumulating masonry heaters, according to the well proven principles of Scandinavian and German masonry heaters.
Heat Storage
Soapstone stoves from Nedita Stoves are developed in accordance to the masonry heating principles from the old world, Europe, especially in Scandinavia and Germany. They are characterized by a special construction where the hot smoke, which contains the energy of the combustion, is brought into direct contact with the soapstone and thus cooled. The soapstone thus absorbs the heat from the burning wood and radiates it into the room over many hours. There are also many soapstone stoves on the market that do not do this: they look the same from the outside, but they are steel stoves with a soapstone casing. The smoke is therefore NOT in contact with the soapstone. As a result, there is also very little heat storage in the stones. A soapstone stove from Nedita Stoves stores about 80% of the heat from the combustion in its soapstone. A lookalike only stores about 20%.
Soapstone stoves from Nedita Stoves therefore offer a range of unique benefits that make them an attractive choice for those looking for a sustainable and efficient way of heating. The combination of radiant heat, long-lasting heat release, and durability makes these stoves an excellent investment for any home.
Heat Release Through the Stones
One of the main advantages of a soapstone stove is that the stove heats the room through the so-called radiant heat of the stones. This heat, unlike traditional convection heat, results in less dry air in the house. The heat does not affect the humidity and therefore feels more pleasant. With just two firings, the stove can continue to release heat for about 12 hours, long after the fire has burned out.

A Sustainable Choice
Additionally, soapstone is known for its ability to first store heat and then slowly release it. This means that soapstone stoves consume less wood, saving you on firewood costs compared to traditional stoves. This is not only financially attractive but also an investment in sustainability.
The sustainable nature of soapstone stoves is further emphasized by their long lifespan. With proper maintenance, these stoves can last for decades. All you need to do regularly is clean the flue channels occasionally. By burning correctly, the windows remain almost soot-free, allowing you to always enjoy the cozy fire. Good Indoor Climate
Because the smoke is directly routed along the soapstone and the stones absorb the heat to then radiate it as ‘sun warmth,’ your indoor climate remains better. Dust particles are not burned from the air on very hot steel or cast-iron plates! This ensures that you can breathe easier and healthier, preventing eye irritation. This is a significant advantage for people who suffer from asthma or are otherwise sensitive to burnt dust.
Environmentally Friendly Burning
Another major advantage is that soapstone stoves operate according to the countercurrent principle, minimizing the emission of smoke gases into the outdoor air. The hot smoke gases released during burning are routed along the stones. The stones absorb the heat and then release it over a long period to the room. Due to the long heat release, the stove only needs to be stoked 1-4 times a day, and the soapstone ensures a pleasant warmth in the house throughout the day. Additionally, our stoves cause minimal temperature differences between the ceiling and floor of your room, as the room is heated with ‘sun warmth’ and not with circulating heated air like with plate stoves.
The stoves can burn in a clean and environmentally friendly manner and offer high efficiency in terms of heat output.
