Which types of homes can our masonry heaters heat
Our heaters can be used in many types of homes. It all depends on how you use it.
- They are well suited for modern, well-insulated homes, since you can dampen the heat output by simply not firing so often: the stone mass will spread the heat from the fire evenly over many hours.
- But they are equally well suited for less insulated homes since they can be fired several times in a row, leading to a much higher heat output for many hours afterwards.
- As a general rule our stoves can be used for rooms / homes from 500-1500 square feet, depending on the size of the stove also, if it is the only heat source.
Our stoves do not need to connect to electricity, so they are ‘grid-independent’.

In this way more than 80% of the heat of the fire is taken up by the stones. This is the main characteristic of a true masonry heater.
